ABOUT

Association of Minorities in Political Science (AMPS) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is an organization that aims to provide professional development, academic support and mentorship to historically underrepresented groups in the discipline. We strive to connect talented students with the resources to pursue research, scholarship and career opportunities that would otherwise be inaccessible. We achieve this by linking current undergraduates with successful alumni, hosting department workshops and conducting peer-to-peer mentoring. We recognize the importance to uplift and encourage students of color who have been traditionally excluded and neglected in the discipline. This coalition is founded upon the pillars of excellence and success with the intention of increasing representation in the field.
